The texture is a little bit odd, as you can see in our picture above, but it tastes incredible. Devour gets the noodles just right.Īll of this comes doused in a buffalo cheddar cheese sauce. Too many of the pasta dishes we try get the noodles wrong either they’re too soggy or they have a weird aftertaste. The noodles strike a good balance between soft and firm. It has that melt-in-your-mouth consistency, making it the perfect chicken for a macaroni dish. The chicken tastes wonderful - it’s a high-quality meat with a wonderful breading. Of course, that might be due to the chicken content - the chicken chunks are surprisingly large here, and eating under-cooked chicken has the potential to be unsafe.Īfter all that cooking and stirring, this meal doesn’t come out looking anything like the creamy, delicious dish pictured on the box it’s actually a curdled mess.īut don’t let aesthetic stop you from trying this it’s actually the best-tasting mac and cheese dish we’ve tried so far. That’s a total of six minutes of heating time, which is pretty high for a macaroni dish. The directions say to heat it in the microwave for three and a half minutes, stir, then heat for two and a half more. This dish does require a bit of time to heat up. Either way, when we spotted Devour’s Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese at our local Target, we knew we had to try it. The miles flew by and goals were met.Devour’s frozen food line recently caught our eye - perhaps because every dish looks incredible, or maybe it’s just because the packaging tends to be so well designed and we’re easily drawn in by good marketing. Nice and cool and a lovely course lined with lots of spectators cheering. So relaxing to laugh with your friends! Race day couldn’t have been more perfect. We were able to go to the race expo and catch a funny movie. We did our best to document our trip in photos….But I never did get a food pic! I was too busy chowing down! Here is our attempt at a selfie. Such a fun surprise! We were able to stay with the brother and sister-in-law of my friend and they were so lovely to host us! Blueberry pancakes and bacon for breakfast!!! And a lovely pre-race dinner made by her mom! Such a wonderful family! Now more about the weekend and the race! We were able to hit the road on Friday night and had such a fun drive even running into another one of our friends traveling with her family at a stop along the way. The whole family loved this and when I got home all the leftovers were gone too! Always the sign of a well received meal. The richness of all that cheese is balanced out with the garlicky chicken. You will also use a little cream cheese to help smooth it all out and add that little extra richness. I used a combo of sharp yellow cheddar and sharp white cheddar. Use any kind of cheese you like the most. Very easy and so much better than boxed mac and cheese. So easy to make and so creamy and delicious and uses REAL cheese! You will cook the chicken all day with lots of garlic and broth and then during the last 30-60 minutes add in the noodles and cheese. First I want to tell you about this mac and cheese I made for my family before I left so that they could have full bellies and leftovers. So good to get away and to spend more time with these lovely ladies! But more on that in a minute.
